Full Job Description
The Strategy Group VI, LLC (TSG) is a United States Virgin Islands-based (USVI) Limited Liability Company and a certified Minority Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (M/DBE) founded in early 2019. TSG offers its clients three service lines: Tax Solutions, Business Solutions and Public Relations and Marketing (PR+M). TSG is quickly becoming the professional services firm of choice in the USVI and abroad.
Summary:
The Strategy Group VI, LLC (TSG) is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our rapidly growing Tax & Accounting firm.
The Senior Tax Manager at TSG is responsible for training and managing a diverse group of professionals offering financial services such as tax, accounting, payroll and compliance. The Senior Tax Manager will ensure quality control is maintained for all client deliverables and will work to ensure any issues identified are mitigated to ensure high client satisfaction. This position will also require execution of core services such tax preparation, accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, financial compliance, and other duties as necessary. The Senior Tax Manager is a self-motivated/self-starter who is able to work independently and collaboratively to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
General Responsibilities:
- Prepare, manage and lead the preparation of Individual and Corporate Tax returns
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of individual and corporate income tax compliance
and planning - Effectively prepare and review work papers, financial statements, and income tax returns
for accuracy, completeness, and compliance - Monitor, track, and manage individual workflows for client engagements to meet internal
and external deadlines - Demonstrate an understanding of income tax filing requirements, laws, and regulations with
the Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue and Federal Internal Revenue Service - Utilize a proactive approach to building and maximizing strong client and business
relationships that enhance the firm’s reputation and opportunities for growth - Develop QA/QC controls to ensure consistency in work output and work quality
- Audit internal and external invoices to ensure adherence to requirements
- Manage client and vendor relationships to help ensure adherence to operational
requirements - Build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and co-workers
- Produce routine actionable management reports
- Streamline and document departmental processes to drive efficiencies and promote
knowledge management - Track departmental goals and KPIs and work closely with the team to remove any barriers
to meet performance targets - Train and manage staff to meet operational and project-specific objectives
- Utilize management skills to encourage staff engagement and retention
- Conduct performance management discussions with staff and identify growth and
development opportunities - Coach and mentor junior staff
- Manage resource allocations to ensure balanced workloads
- Review employee timesheets for accuracy
- Actively promote a culture of a high-performance and be a positive role model for others
- Collaborate with co-workers and business leaders on projects as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Accounting)
- Minimum of 7 years of Tax experience
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience
- A certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Microsoft Office 365 experience
- QuickBooks experience
- Client relationship management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Consulting with Government Services experience
- Willing to become a United States Virgin Islands resident
